Obama and Romney – A Tale of Two Solar Returns

As we approach the election, the choice is clear to those who see reality and understand history. Romney always lies about his intentions and patterns while Obama explains what he has done to fix the problems that Bush and his predecessors caused. There’s an easy way of figuring out who these people really are… all you need to do is take a look at their charts!
Since Mitt has been the front-runner for months, he’s been profiled a couple of times; in January and April on Leofish.com, and I’ve done the president’s chart numerous times, so I don’t want to beat a dead horse, focusing instead on their solar return charts.
Depending upon where Romney was on his birthday, his Solar return chart is going to change. In the eastern portion of the country, Capricorn rising dominates, while in the west, Sagittarius is on the Ascendant. Cap ASC places the ruler, Saturn in the 9th house, which fits the political ambitions to which he aspires, but the Moon in Scorpio forms a conjunction to Saturn and an opposition to the Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Taurus, causing a polarized response from the people. Awareness of his personal greed and lack of concern for the general populace is the key for voters to discern and keep him jobless. A candidate that wants to further trim teachers, cops and firefighters to give the savings to the wealthy should never be allowed to serve in public office. We have been observing the privatization of America since the 80’s and the collective wealth of the 99% has dwindled about 39% over the past decade. During that time, student loans have skyrocketed and you remember how the banks robbed a lot of people out of their homes, so I won’t stir up that wound. Families are torn apart while the breadwinner goes in search of a job, sometimes many states away. But millionaires don’t usually care how the other 99% suffer through life on meager portions or unhealthful food, feeding their fat faces to their heart’s content or until their arteries are clogged. Millionaires are the class of people Mitt cares about and caters to, not the common man with whom he has nothing in common. He’s said he was a hunter at one point, but he shoots off his mouth more than he’s ever shot a gun, but that has to do with his natal Mercury/Mars conjunction in a delusional, deceptive and disgusting aggressive attitude of superiority. This year’s Solar Return, Mercury conjoins Uranus in Aries, so he has friends or associates write his new speeches for him because they sound less like him than ever before. However, Mercury/Uranus form a square to Pluto, pertinent to his vulture capitalism history in the private sector. Although it may or may not be an issue in this year’s election with so many other major failings, he did use his religion to avoid the draft during the Vietnam War, born out by Mars in Virgo opposite Chiron/Neptune square the nodes. Speaking of Mars, it appears in a Grand Trine with Venus/Jupiter in Taurus and Pluto in Cap, so he may get lazy and think he’s got it wrapped up when Obama crushes him in the end. His Sun makes no aspects to anything in his chart, which makes it hard to tell who he is or what he stands for and even makes it tough to have a strong character but he’s really only a poor reflection of those he serves. While his Moon/Jupiter is in the natal 6th, so, too, is Chiron, revealing his wound deals with the failure to serve others, especially since the Moon indicates what you need. Its placement suggests he needs to be more generous to others but he uses it to play pranks and little jokes on people. He’s pretended some women goosed his ass when posing for a photo shoot on many occasions, so no doubt the Scorpio Moon motivated his actions. But it the kind of frat boy humor that GWB also showed. We can’t have that immaturity representing the USA.
President Obama is an esteemed scholar and considered thinker who puts serious thought into his answers that can’t easily be reduced to sound bites. His Solar Return chart has an interesting situation with the quincunx appearing twice with two pairs of planets in the same signs; the Sun in Leo and Moon in Pisces and Mercury Rx in Leo to Neptune in Pisces. Both pairs are exactly the same degrees, intensifying the energy but it is a stressful aspect, requiring adjustment and compromise. The life he lives is faced with the dream and/or nightmare crisis because he needs the people to understand and accept that his way is the path to a better tomorrow. He’s seen it in visions, burdening himself with the responsibility of leading a nation through troubled times, relenting little in his fight against partisan obstruction that disaffects the needs of the people, illustrated by Jupiter in Gemini square the Moon in the 6th, so that he believes he can help folks get back to work. I suspect disappointment at the deception inherent in his professional peers in congress has to do with Mercury to Neptune and the Moon square Jupiter is over-reactive, hyper-judgmental and overoptimistic enthusiasm perhaps pursuant to some legal issue, possibly over a judge. Having Jupiter sit on the MC is very favorable for his probable victory in November and the fame that spreads with it is enhanced by Venus in the 10th of reputation and accomplishment, where he’s appreciated by a diverse coalition of the populace. Mercury rules the Gemini MC and trines the likewise retrograde Uranus, featuring brilliant ideas and the ability to think ahead and turn on a dime. By relating to the people what has happened in the past (Mercury retro rules S Node and sextile to it), he gives perspective on how to get to the future (Mercury trine N Node). Incidentally, Hygeia is the same degree as Neptune, thus brought into the equation is the health care issue, which has been misrepresented and under-explained for those who refuse to see its value and worth. Going back over old terrain is the domain of the retrograde Mercury, so here we go again with the old refrains. Mercury, however, is superficial compared to Neptune, which squares the nodes exactly, acting as the skipped step of understanding, which makes sense since he was born with Sun and Mercury square Neptune, so believing or acceptance has never come naturally. However much people want to paint him as a leftist peacenik, the Mars/Saturn in Libra leans more to an authoritarian master and commander, where he uses executive power to stake his claim to the throne. Making his reign more benevolent, Venus is trine Saturn, seeking to level the playing field for the working Americans who have been hit hardest by the recession the banksters caused in 2008. They crashed the economy because they knew McCain was going to lose to Obama and they wanted to steal as much money as they possibly could from the US Treasury under Bush, using the banking crisis as cover. This year, Obama, with any luck getting a majority back in the House and a larger majority in the Senate, will press for strong financial regulations and enforcement and actually get them. Angular house placements point to issues that are emphasized in the Solar Return year when a planet is in the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th (Pluto 4, Uranus 7 and Venus 10). So there is transformation afoot in the home environment but the domestic circumstances are positive with the 4th house ruler, Jupiter sitting in the 9th on the MC, so his aspirations are positively on track plus Jupiter sextile the Sun also puts him in a beneficial position. Truth be told, I have seen Pluto in 4 as a big move in other Solar Return charts but it rules the 5th, so I think Malia, who is too smart for her own good, is going to bring a boy into the White House and it will flap the unflappable president. Disapproval awaits her as the seriously scowling scorn of the Moon in Capricorn square Saturn in Libra in daddy’s chart shows the family frustration of being under constant surveillance by the Secret Service. And having a Capricorn mother! Consider the Moon’s conjunction to Chiron and family or domestic issues could be painful. Speaking of Chiron, he’s in his return cycle that happens for everyone between 50 and 51, which is a time when humans choose whether they are going to live or getting ready to die. This should be a moot point with the vertex in Aquarius in the 6th house which suggests his team health plan instituted by his wife (6th house ruler in the 7th) is innovative and healthy. Conversely, the 7th ruler is in the 6th so you know she’s been on him to stay healthy and there’s way too much temptation on the campaign trail with cooks everywhere wanting a First Customer.
