Einstein Meets Freud

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction; Newton’s third law of motion. This can apply in human relationships as well as physics since applying pressure to someone can be met with resistance or repulsion. When a parent exerts dominating control on a child, they descend into one of a number of psychological conditions that can be seen astrologically. Use of influence is only natural to get people close to you to get them to do your bidding but it’s not often the equitable way for an individual to establish their unique personality, something most of us want to express. We develop according to the circumstances we encounter on the road of life with some having greater familial advantage than others. We have a certain amount of free will in that we choose our parents as well as how we respond to experiences but we have evolved past the optimum physical specimen into a lazy, stressed-out, over-stimulated, distracted, under-rested and overworked species, operating under mistaken beliefs that the American Dream was attainable and that true love exists for everyone. Connecting used to be a form of interpersonal relationship but has evolved into some form of electronic transmission to convey messages or images. Facebook friends are not always people you really like or would have over to tea, even if they lived close enough and networks aren’t always a functioning system of interacting. What you don’t get at home, you seek in other environments from other people, as nature abhors a vacuum. Americans are guilty of overcompensating for their deficiencies, compulsively seeking more of what they never had or got too little of as a child. Yet those who have grown up with wealth also greedily want more than they earn, despite the billions of starving people around the world living on less than a dollar a day. Supporting those who are poor is one job for the rich just as those who are more educated pass on their knowledge to others. It should be seen as making everyone’s life better and not selfishly improving one’s own condition. Before you think of communism or socialism, bear in mind it’s not the responsibility of government to make everyone behave in a moral manner; that’s the duty of the citizen to be upstanding, contributing to the society from which he or she benefits. Remember that we do indeed live in the land of the free but how many people are really brave enough to stand up for the truth or something meaningful and substantial. If each one of us had only themselves to rely on, we’d be a mean and isolated people living in a culture of selfishness. Our nation was founded during the Sun passing through Cancer with Venus and Jupiter, making us a large, generous, multi-cultural family that takes care of its own and protects others from oppressive forces of tyranny. With our Moon in Aquarius, it gives the people the rights and freedoms of individuality and independence lifted by a sense of friendship and fellowship with your larger groups and societies. These very disparate energies give rise to America’s complexities and differences, as the retrograde Mercury in Cancer has many people longing for a yesterday that never really existed except in TV or films of the past, while the Aquarius Moon has many others living on the cutting edge of the future with technologies changing life at a faster pace than anyone can ever remember or adjust to. We have reactionaries living in the past and futurists pulling us ahead into tomorrow and have a hard time living in the present. Aquarius is the sign of the future and represents the coming age, where all people will be as brothers and everyone is free to be whatever they want to be, or maybe that’s a little too idealistic. Hopes and wishes are natural to the house of Aquarius, wherein the future offers many unpredictable paths that lead just about anywhere you’re going as long as it is forward.
