The Sun’s ingress into Aquarius occurs on the 20th of January and is greeted at the doorway by Venus in Pisces sextile Pluto, thus deepening and intensifying relationships, making for greater intimacy. Right away, the very next day, the Sun gets busy forming a sextile to Uranus, providing electrical energy and helping technological advances move along developmental tracks. However, the square the Sun makes with Jupiter can cause inflated egotism and overconfidence in the attempt to be the biggest producer and can overload the circuits. The New Moon on the 22nd (Pacific Time) brings in the Year of the Dragon and Mercury trine a stationary Mars in Virgo puts ideas for employing people into motion. Of course, Mars turning retrograde (23rd) can delay activation of plans, as it turns into escapist avoidance energy, seeking no confrontation but incorporating passive means by which to win an argument. After a few quiet days of no aspects, Mercury squares Saturn as it heads out of Capricorn and moves into Aquarius on the 27th, causing slow thought and speech, throwing up caution flags everywhere. Intellectual energy elevates and escalates on the following day with Mercury sextile Uranus to make plans for the future and Mercury square Jupiter, which may be a lack of good judgment and lack of perspective. February begins with Venus in Pisces opposing Mars making for passive-aggressive conflicts and little effort at working through differences, at least for a few days. On the 3rd, Neptune performs its final entry into Pisces where it will reside for the next 14 years, triggering new versions of the American Dream as the US Neptune is in the opposite sign. Full Moons are usually intense but this one in Leo is more than most, as the Sun conjoins Mercury and is witness to Saturn turning retrograde and Venus entering Aries, which leads it to conjoin Uranus on the 9th and possibly liberating our spirits to enter into more open relationships based on desires and assertiveness, friendship and freedom. These thought provoking activities cause serious discussion about their moral and spiritual values, which can be rationally, patiently understood on the 13th under the beneficial energy of Mercury in the last degree of Aquarius trine a slow Saturn in the final degree of Libra. In the early evening on the same day, Mercury enters Pisces and conjoins Neptune, giving rise to psychic messages and creative imaginations stimulated off the chart. Post Valentine’s Day blues will hit many as they realize they aren’t with the one special person and they need to join with a soul mate. The aspect on the 15th is Venus square Pluto which should change a lot of people’s values or refine the parameters of what people want. It could also incline susceptible people to revenge and sabotage, destroying relationships or obsessing over them. After a blowup like that, things get out into the open, truths are told as Mercury sextile Jupiter on the 16th will have a little something to do with the resulting positive discussions. Stabilizing forces manifest under the Sun trine Saturn, focusing on personal goals and expressing authority to creatively organize projects to accomplishment. Near the very end of the Sun’s transit through the sign of the water bearer, Mercury in Pisces sextile Pluto digs for solutions to many of life’s problems. We all need to be more mindful and cooperate toward a truce in the class warfare to stop the violence.
